In September of 1999, the Shreveport Housing Authority purchased this 124 unit apartment complex to increase the availability of affordable housing choices in the North Shreveport area. This development is part of the Section 8 Project-based Voucher Program. 82 units are reserved for Section 8 participants, while 42 units are rented at market value. Tenants of Cypress Landing have the unique opportunity of benefiting from housing assistance while living in mixed-income environments.
Each unit is equipped with a refrigerator, stove, and central air/heat. Onsite laundry facilities are provided. Water, sewage, and garbage collection are included in the rent. Electric bills are the responsibility of the tenant.
Cypress Landing is located across from Southern University-Shreveport. A number of businesses including David Raines Community Health Center is located within walking distance from the complex.
